It's starting to look like a house! It's so fun to stop by the house now so we go all the time! Things are really starting to take shape. We can totally see what it's going to look like now.
ALY construction came to the house on Thursday morning and worked all day until 8:30 at night. I stopped by the house at 7:45 a.m. on Friday and they were already there working. They made such quick progress. They were amazing!
We still don't have power at the house. So we have to keep hounding the electric company. We had to take the construction crew 5 gallons of gas for their generator to power their tools. Hopefully, we will have power by Monday. If we don't have power by the beginning of the week Kasey said he may have to make a phone call to and see if he can get them moving.

Foundation set
Yahoo I guess I can get lucky once in a while! We asked Kasey about the pump truck and they did not have to use it so that's a $1000 savings :) We also asked Kasey about the cracks/crumblings in the foundation. He said it is normal to have some cracks in the cement. Basicly, he said, if you can stick a pencil in it it's fine if you can stick your hand in there we have a problem.
We are still waiting to get power. We had the inspection done to get temporary power and we are now waiting for the electric company to come hook us up. We called the electric company to give them a nudge to get it hooked up but they said they hadn't received the inspection report yet so they could not hook it up. Kasey said he would follow up with Wood County and have them resend the inspection report so we could get power for the workers asap.
I really like that Kasey will call and ask us if we have any questions and let us know what the plan is for the next week. He is knowledgable and informative. Thanks Kasey!
Next step is to waterproof the basement then backfill and hopefully start framing by Thursday. Wow it could really start looking like a house soon!
Feel free to leave any comments we would love any suggestions or feedback.

Foundation pour
The forms are up and the foundation is poured. If the weather cooperates then the forms will come down tomorrow. We are wondering if they had to use the pump truck to get the cement poured. It looks like they may have been able to drive around the lot to get the cement in. There is additional cost if they have to bring in a pump truck. We are keeping our fingers crossed because that will save us at least $1000. We will ask Kasey about that next week.

Forms are here 4-18-12
This is foundation week. The footers were poured on Monday. Tuesday stone was spread to cover the mud and make it easier for the workers to work. Today is Wednesday and the forms are here! We are hoping to pour the walls tomorrow. We will have to keep our fingers crossed that Mother Nature cooperates. We received a call today from Kasey to check in and give us an update of the upcoming plans at the "hole in the ground". Plans for next week are to water proof the basement at the beginning of the week. As of right now the framers are scheduled for Thursday. Progress!

We had our dig day on Friday. We are now the proud owners of a hole in the ground and some mounds of dirt. We met Kasey (field supervisor) at the site at 8:30 and he explained the process and what was going to happen for the day. It was a very interesting process.I didn't know that watching the excavators move dirt would be so interesting. Northwest did the excavating and he could as Kasey put it "pick an apple off a tree with that thing!" We ended up spending most of the day there. That also gave us time to meet some of our future neighbors. We look forward to getting to know them better as they all seemed very nice.
